Are you considering your options when it comes to higher education or your future career? Would you like support in preparing for interviews or starting your first job?

We are here to help you in preparing for your next chapter. Have a read through the information below, and do reach out if you would like to take advantage of any of the initiatives on this page or have any questions about our resources.

ASC Stambassador Network

As a first step, you might find it helpful to browse through the video interviews created by our Stambassadors.

ASC Stambassadors are adults working in a wide range of industries, sectors and professions. They have first-hand experience of what it’s like to enter the world of work or further study with a stammer. They understand what it's like to be where you are now.

Stambassadors work with ASC in a number of ways to help us in our efforts to make the workplace more inclusive and supportive of stammering. They joined ASC to share their stories to inspire and encourage young people who stammer to follow their dream career.

If you have a particular career in mind or just want to hear from someone who knows, browse our Stambassador archive.

The ASC Mentoring Programme

The ASC Mentoring Programme offers young people who stammer the opportunity to connect with professionals with lived-experience of navigating their career or further study with a stammer.

Mentees receive personalised, one-to-one, career mentoring for 6-months - working with their mentor towards career-oriented goals.

This programme has been designed for young people who stammer aged 18-25 who are:

  • Preparing to enter the world of work.
  • Thinking about the career they would like to have.
  • Entering higher education.
  • Looking to build their confidence in the work environment.
